The more you speak in public, the more you make speaking mistakes. I'm a 71 year old retired academic with more than 35 years experience in the classroom and online, more than 25 years as an Associate Dean in a business school, made countless professional and research presentations, and was in more meetings then I care to remember. Hardly a week went by when I didn't misspeak about something or mispronounce something. Try talking for 2 and a half hours (graduate level night classes) and not make any mistakes. Sometimes your mistake sits in the back of your head until you then say "I think I misspoke about XYZ, here's what I should have said". Sometimes a student will correct you, and a faculty member will always correct you. How many times has a family member or friend misspoken in a conversation and you just let it slide because you know what they meant. I'm not concerned about Biden's gaffe's; I also don't spend any time thinking about Trump's gaffe's. I do spend time thinking about Trump's hatred, meanness, grifting and his other odious behavior. Trump is incompetent in every way that matters.
Good points. It's also important to note that misspeaking* and not remembering dates of events is NOT the same as having impaired judgement and the inability to process information and come to conclusions.
*I don't consider Trump repeatedly saying that he ran against Obama and beat Obama as 'misspeaking'.
