Stephen: I apologize, but this message will be a bit long.
At this point of time in our history - when half our country has been overrun by individuals who have succumbed to coercive control techniques (aka brainwashing) used by Donald Trump daily to influence his followers, his many-sided destructiveness, and his loyalty to Putin - we are a country in serious trouble. While the American media spotlight, ever enthralled by the sensationalism of the moment, remains fixated on Trump's legal woes, A CRUCIAL AND OVERLOOKED DANGER CONTINUES TO UNFOLD IN THE UNITED STATES. The influence of Putin's strategies quietly attempts to reshape the trajectory of American politics and American lives. We are seeing this happening NOW.
Brainwashing was developed in totalitarian countries about 100 years ago. It was used in China, Germany, Italy, Russia, Austria, and so on. It is defined as "telling lies over and over until it is perceived as the truth." (wikipedia) Biden won the 2020 election by about 8 million votes, but Trump still says the election was "stolen." Trump filed 60 court cases to prove this lie, but had NO EVIDENCE to support this untruth and lost all 60 cases. If the lie contains hatred - which Trump uses daily - it releases a chemical in the human brain to enact violence. This is what we saw on January 6th. Hitler converted an entire peaceful nation into mass murderers and killed over 6 million humans. Jim Jones, who thought he was God just like Trump - amassed a following of 900 people. He told them all to drink KoolAid laced with poison, and the entire population died. I wrote From Democracy to Democrazy and was at a book signing event at a Barnes and Noble in Tucson, AZ. A middle-aged woman came up to me and said "I think Putin is a great leader." I was so shocked that I opened my mouth to respond, but nothing came out. These were the EXACT same words spoken by Trump the prior week and immediately after Putin invaded the sovereign nation of Ukraine. BRAINWASHING WORKS AND IS NOW FOUND IN THE UNITED STATES AND IS USED DAILY BY TRUMP. So where did Trump acquire this skill?
Putin is a Cold War-era spy who spent the majority of his spy years in East Germany. He studied Hitler's methodology, mass mind manipulation, and bribery. He brought this new knowledge back to Russia and became Russia's second President. In 1997, a 600 page book surfaced in Russia (I was living and working there at this time) called The Foundations of Geopolitics. Putin was accepted as the ghost writer since it outlines his goals for his presidency. The list includes: destruction of the U.S democracy from within, post-communism military operations, BREXIT, the invasion and reabsorption of Ukraine, return world order to pre-NATO timeframe, partner with Germany and France, and so on. Much of his list has been realized. Putin blames the U.S. for the downfall of the USSR and has vowed revenge. What does this mean for the United States?
Trump has visited Russian many, many times since 1990. Every hotel room where a foreigner stays has spy devices in the ceiling and walls - no exceptions. Russians use three tools to enlist a foreigner: flattery, money, and beautiful women. Trump was susceptible to all three. Chances of him being photographed with his pants down are very high. However, in 2008, Trump Jr. clearly stated in a NY conference (www.businessinsider.com) that the Trump organization was now working with Russian banks and had received $100 million via Russia. (U.S. banks refused to loan money to Trump due to his four bankruptcies). Trump was in need of cash and he stupidly fell for Russian offers to help. Russian banks DO NOT loan money to foreigners to just gain interest on the balance. Russian banks - who all operate with KGB/FSB oversight - give money to foreigners for two reasons: (1) to launder black cash into that person's country which ruins their economy, or (2) to enlist and obligate the foreigner to the Russian KGB. There are many, many real estate records that show how Russian money was used in Trump real estate transactions. The Trump Tower in SoHo (New York) was entirely funded with Russian funds. So in reality, Donald Trump was on KGB payroll about ten years prior to becoming the President of the United States. Russians openly admitted their interference in the 2016 election and said it would continue. The Mueller report supports this assumption. Does this make Donald Trump a traitor - YOU BET. FOX News perpetuated Trump's lies and mirrored the way the controlled media in Russia operates - out of fear of reprisal.
Media in the U.S. still do not see the bigger picture and are often driven by their revenue stream instead of the truth. I spent the majority of my career living and working in dictator-led countries. I wrote From Democracy to Democrazy (www.democrazy2020.org) to inform Americans about the Trump-Putin connection. This book reveals, in detail, Putin's carefully hidden plan to the American public. Both Putin and Trump are consummate liars, but their web of lies cannot withstand the light of truth. OUR DEMOCRACY HANGS IN THE BALANCE. Elizabeth
I agree with you 100% Elizabeth. I just continue to be shocked over and over how easily people have been misled, and how they’re showing their preference for an authoritative tyrant. I am 73 and I’ve never seen or heard the likes of this in my entire life.
Black Americans who were subjected to Jim Crow have seen 'this' before.
John Birch Society(a Koch brother, presidential candidate); Christian Citizen's Council and the KKK.
Women, before Roe v Wade have seen 'this' before.
The laws SCOTUS now overturns were enacted because of this 'this'. Who benefited from thos laws besides Black Americans, Caucasian women, Disabled Americans and everybody, including Caucasian men.
We must remember: playing both sides is very lucrative and brings in more ad revenue for online, print, and video outlets. Media in this country do not need to speak to truth; they need to drive shareholder value...up.
This is what I don’t subscribe to WAPO or NYT times anymore and can’t turn on the tv news(only substacks from real journalidts for me)-it’s all GOP apologist trash or full of bothsidesing, horse race coverage, false equivalency, just accepting GOP framing (“the crisis at the border!”you mean the one GOP intentionally created by refusing requested funding and gutting immigration courts? People attempting to come to our country and migrate is normal and has always occurred and we should have the apparatus to respond to predictable surges caused by global crises but I digress
Often true, but not always. I think it's because WE are so sided by now we cannot stand the other opinion. But the news is a business. I get angry when news reporting is biased, often headlines are, but biased towards the OTHER side. I am sick of it. But I cannot give up NYT or WAPO because they are the most reputable ( and often differ). MSM we have and often are cited. The opinions that are my sided are bolstering (to be honest) and the comments often give me faith. Although faith in the readers does not translate into faith in the electorate.
Substacks are great. But this is part of "The Great Sort".. the channeling and dividing of the country. Cable News is MSNBC opinion, CNN , FOX (disgusting) WE listen to BBC now more often. As for money spent.. I am spending more on my news. I think if anyone has to cut back for this reason it's understandable.
I share your views! The "other side" needs to hear them.
Change the facts, or partially tell what happened, change the definition of words like insurrection and then claim the response to what actually happened is anti-American. Give the other side- the loud voices, something to repeat and grab onto in defense. Douthat of the Times. The NYTimes, especially the headlines they write (many I assume just read headlines) are really unnerving. The editors allow this gaslighting to "both sides" (a verb) us at this perilous time.
The NYTimes, on this Douthat link, does not allow comments either. Cowardly! Often the comments are great in response.
And cable TV wants gladiator politics.
We have been listening to the BBC... much more informative
Hi Maggie: Thanks for your input and to set the record straight, I am 79 years old. I spent the majority of my career in the USSR, Russia, Central Asia (5 countries), etc. I hope you get an opportunity to read From Democracy to Democrazy by Graham. It is a best seller on Amazon. It will tell you the whole story of Putin's vendetta against the United States and Trump's role in converting our country into a dictatorship that he thinks he will control but in reality, it is Putin who pulls Trump's strings. The book provides the facts, evidence, and proof. Warm wishes, Elizabeth
If you know all this then I assume the CIA does too. It sure looks like they are doing little of nothing about it. Where are the James Bond types that save the day before the movie ends? Should we expect some fireworks soon? Will Putin’s man Trump meet a tragic accident? Or are they standing by wringing their hands in frustration as they are being outmaneuvered?
Your welcome. We need every person we can gather to understand what is really happening in our country. Either do their own research or read From Democracy to Democrazy (by Graham) which was written in 2020 but it just as true today - even more so. It is available on ebook, Kindle, and in hard and soft covers. I am scared and hope that our judicial system can save our democracy. Elizabeth
Hi Stan and thanks for your comments and questions.
1. Yes the CIA knows all of this. At one point in my life I was CIA with all the trimmings - Top Secret and Undercover. The CIA has a copy of my book and has approved it - From Democracy to Democrazy, by Graham.
2. I don 't know where the James Bond types are, but I have come to the conclusion - much like you - that I am carrying this torch alone. The book was written four years ago, and warms the American public about the truth - it provides the evidence and proof of Trump's relationship with Russia. Please read the book if you get a chance. It was ranked number one on Amazon (Kindle) in three categories ONLY 2 weeks after it's release in July 2023.
I began writing the book after George Floyd's death, and by the end I was not just explaining about problems in the U.S. but also my many years of living/working in communist and dictator-led countries AND telling Americans the truth about Trump. His strings are all pulled by Putin - and the evidence is in the book.
3. Fireworks - I cannot answer that question, but feel that with the number of people in our country convinced that Trump is a "good guy", I would think that we might expect a repeat of January 6th in some form or another.
4. Trump and a tragic accident? - If Trump looses all his real estate - which means the Russians can no longer funnel black cash through his business AND he fails to be re-elected to the Presidentcy - then I would not be surprised in the least if a Russian delivers a strong dose of poison, or some such other lethal message. I wrote an entire substack post on this topic after Cassidy Hutchinson stated that "Trump was terrified of being poisoned." I can send you a copy of that response if you like. Tell me where to send it.
5. Is the CIA wringing their hands because they have been outmaneuvered? - I cannot speak for the CIA since they have not been a part of my life for many years now. My father was a senior manager of the CIA undercover office in California (and before that he was military intelligence), and he acquired a Top Secret clearance for me during my last year of high school which was 1962. I first performed admin tasks, and then coding and decoding for many years during college. I am still obligated to not discuss any details of this work. My last meeting with them was in 2013 in Scottsdale, AZ.
Framing the problem as "bothsidesism" does a disservice to the TRUTH. One side is telling the story as it is, the other side is twisting it to fit a narrative handed down by an orange-colored, poo-flinging simian. One side has the truth - hard facts - at its disposal, yet continues to pander to the side that believes the poo-flinger. THAT is a major problem when our major news outlets perpetrate this nonsense. Either report the actual facts, as fact, or don't bother to call it "news."
Thank you for this. I miss Tim Russert. He would not have let Stefanik get away with her BS. Everyone is so soft on the right....the right is a DANGER not another point of view.

This is a very helpful call Out of the mainstream medias both sides ism in favor of Trump.
It brings to my mind, the both sidesism in favor of Biden as he wet nurses the genocide in Gaza.
