Don't think "even at the state level." That is THE reason POTUS and SCOTUS (e.g., in Dobbs in 2022 and in Alexander in 2024 (re: what SCOTUS justices admitted was "political apartheid" that looked a lot like racial discrimination)) are saying to "send issues back to the states," i.e., to give state officials the ability to oppress people.

So glad you're covering this. PI covered it today also. It needs all the attention we can give it. I wish we could all descend on NC. To me, this more than any other thing we've witnessed (and I know how hyperbolic that sounds) demonstrates the breadth and depth of their indisputable conviction that they (white men) are entitled to dominate. It's a spectacular display of their deeply held and irrefutable belief in their place in the world as the rightful rulers among us. Democracy and free and fair elections are allowed only if they produce the right results.

I really don't understand how the "invalid" ballots are only invalid for this one race - seems that if they voters were ineligible to vote in this race then all races should be contested as a result of this. Also, why only select counties? Again, if the lawsuit contends that some ballots in some counties are invalid, what about the other (presumably red) counties? Seems to me Riggs should file suit to include all counties in this insanity. If NC Republicans want to upend the election process for this one race, they should be forced to contend with the entire election and all races being upended - sell that the the states voters, along with a list of associated costs, and then be required to bill each resident for the costs.

Perfect—in North Carolina the only vote that should be counted is a Republican one … and recusal is for sissies.
