Let's reward "The Party of NO" with the same vote of confidence in '24: NO!!

Vote BLUE.

Thank you for delineating the dangerous dysfunction and hypocrisy in the Republican party. We have some challenging times ahead of us.

I think R’s are trying to whip up enough racist bs about the border in the hope it will outweigh voter anger over their abortion cruelty. Then ride that wave of racist bs to the wh in Nov.

“But Republican lawmakers who are incumbents themselves generally would like to show their constituents that they’ve done something.“

I think this is naive. Republicans keep winning in rural areas for a reason, even though their policies and accomplishments and laws do nothing to help their constituents. At this point, therefore, it’s time to reassess how rural voters throughout America view the purpose of government, legislation, laws, and what they really want their representatives to do why they are in office. Hint: it ain’t to accomplish stuff that will benefit voters. It’s to accomplish the reinforcement of hierarchy—as in to pass laws that signal that someone else is beneath them, as immoral (abortion), lazy (welfare), poor character (drugs) or any such human trait one wants to pick out of a hat to use to judge someone else as beneath themselves.

While I think you're right? I don't think that's enough for a majority, or even a plurality, any more. While we can't rest before the election, I don't think we can also sit down and go "Oh, what's the use?", either.

Where did I say 'give up'? If we mis-identify the problem, or ignore the true source of the problem, we are merely on a hamster wheel where we put a lot of effort in but get nowhere. The true source of the problem is that low population states (rural) have disproportional representation in the U.S. Senate and thus, the electoral college, which means that the narrative and votes of those low population states has dominated our national discourse in a myriad of detrimental ways, starting with none other than the southern states in the 1800s dominating how slavery was dealt with before the Civil War. At this point, though, as with climate change, we might be past the point of no return. Only time will tell on either one. Meanwhile, I bought solar panels and an EV so no, I haven't given up.

Yes, they do, but to fix that would require Constitutional Amendments—amendments which, moreover, I doubt would ever successfully pass.

The one with the best chance of passage is abolishing the Electoral College, but those over-represented "small states" would fight like Hell to maintain it BECAUSE it gives them disproportional representation. To them, why should California and New York stick them with Hillary Rodham Clinton (whose popular vote majority largely came from those two states)? Well, "Donald Trump", obviously—though not to the people in the less populous rural states, and the industrial states whose industries left them thanks to the kind of outsourcing the Clintons championed! To them, the promise of Hillary was that she'd just strip them of what industry they had left.

Somehow my full comment didn't post before. I've now included the full post of what I meant to say the first time. Your response is exactly why I said (in the intended original post) that we might be past the point of no return.

Is the comment about the Civil War and climate change the additions you made? I agree with them, but for a lot of people, especially those living in apartments like I do, solar panels aren't really an option. I have one solar panel which I can use to recharge my emergency battery backup for my phone, and maybe my laptop, in the instance of a blackout that lasts more than a day—and that puts me ahead of most people!

EVs are and, while they've come down in price considerably, they're still on the high end of things—especially when, like me, you still owe over $15K on a gas guzzling SUV your ex-wife insisted she needed for her business travel.... 🙄

Wonderful piece!

Trump is treating the border like he did COVID: he would welcome chaos for his own benefit with full knowledge of the problem; and people die. But as he said then: ‘It is what it is…..’

The GOP should be ashamed but they are not. They should stand up and bend over for they are about to be spanked right out of office.

I also think Ted “Screws Loose”Cruz should find another line of work because obviously his time is up. Go get ready for your next useless podcast.

Lastly Agolf Shitler is detrimental to America. America will never let the Diaperstain near the White House again. Vote Blue down the ballot.

So when we want things like infrastructure, healthcare, free community college, childcare for working parents, price controls on food at the consumer end; all of those things are too expensive to spend our tax dollars on. Yet the ultrawealthy who pay a fraction of their tax obligation use that savings to just bankroll their own shady demands AND we get the satisfaction of our income funding that shit. Women are being arrested for miscarriages here's while our tax dollars are purchasing bombs that kill mothers in labor in Gaza, and Texas has decided that they are autonomous and we're just going to let them do that after the sternly worded reprimand from our illustriously notorious Supreme Court. Our senators and representatives face no real consequences for their appalling behavior. In addition to their salaries they are collecting as much lobbyist swag as possible and they aren't passing any bills even when they are getting what they've been screaming for? And yet no media is saying this is unacceptable and must end. It's like there are no sane adults in this country. It's appalling.

I called my AZ-06 Rep, Juan Ciscomani and asked him to support the Senate Border Bill. Ciscomani is an immigrant himseIf. I told him if he doesn't support the bill and help to bring it to the floor, he better not complain about the border ever again. (202) 225-2542

I suggest you call your representative and make noise.

It’s became painfully obvious the Republicans are totally lost. They lack the brains to realize they lost in 2020, ‘21, ‘22, ‘23, and they will list again in ‘24. This is all because if one person. The one they are idolizing. Their ‘king’. Their ‘supreme leader’. Their ‘dictator!. Well, they have received what they have ask for. Now, they can do without, suffer the consequences. And get the hell out if the way so we can get things done for the people of this nation. It’s clear the Republicans don’t give a damn about the common person. All they care about is their own pocketbook, and supreme power. Neither of which they deserve.

Vote BLUE 💙💙💙💙 in ‘24, through all elections through ‘30. All Republicans must go.

I would like a job where I make decent money, lots of paid time off, great insurance that's paid for and all the other perks that come with my position, and I don't even have to do what's expected of me because unless I'm voted out, for 2-4 years, I'm golden. Republicans are Putin's puppets just like their dear leader. So, yes, vote BLUE and dump these useless idiots.

YIKES!!! Noah, you can't say that on Twitter/X:

"...can’t find its own feet because it keeps cutting them off at the knees."

My personal account got permanently banned for tweeting that it was "...about time someone cut Peter Navarro off at the knees."

They said it was endorsing or advocating violence - and I didn't even get a chance to delete it. They just banned me.

WOW…. I’ve seen MUCH WORSE on X-Twitter! Hard to believe Noah got banned. Make a new account. That’s what I’ve seen a lot of people do!

Noah didn't get banned... or did he? I know *I* did, though. Let's face it, X/Twitter is a steaming pile of a platform with one useful function... I can easily keep up with posts by people that I want notifications for.

Mike Johnson might as well jump in trumps pants the opposite way. That way all he has to do is take turns turning around with the Orange POS and Repeat after him!

We have enough things that need to be dealt with and for a G-damn year the GQP have not passed even one bill to help the people! For Christ’s sakes! Nothing on Healthcare,Middle Class, Working Families , Seniors, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Free Lunches For All Children In School, I could go on. Oh and God forbid they LOWER YOUR TAXES AND TAX THOSE DAM 1%’ers!

And that LOUSY, LAZY, HIDING ALL THE TIME—- Ted Cruz….. I don’t even live in Texas, but I keep wishing he would be VOTED OUT OF OFFICE! I loathe that guy. To go on vacation when your State has a disaster then lie about it, makes him Dead On Arrival! This is all my OPINION.
