"No one hires a media loudmouth with a well-publicized history of alcohol problems, credible allegations of sexual assault, and negligible managerial experience to run the military".............except another media loudmouth, with Adderall problems, a litigated history of sexual assault, and poor managerial experience handling a pandemic.

Exceptionally bad managerial experience in handling or running ANYTHING. 47 has yet to put together a winning product or company.

The guy was too scared to meet with Democratic Senators before he was confirmed and had to bring his wife to all his meetings with Republican Senators so they wouldn't ask too many uncomfortable questions about his sexual assault history. Who brings their spouse to job interviews and still gets the job? What kind of manly, MAGA warfighter needs to use his wife as a human shield to protect himself from tough questions?

“I CAN’T BE TRUSTED” DEFENSE

After 5 affairs during 1st union, a baby with another woman during 2nd marriage, & a “consensual” assault, Jennifer demands she’s always with me whether I’m mtg foreign dignitaries or I’m sharing classified info on Signal. Get it!

You're right about Hegseth's "role" but there's another factor here too. Before Trump was elected in 2016, a large number of conservative/Republican national security professionals publicly stated he was unfit for the presidency, and they'd refuse to serve in a Trump administration.

During Trump 1.0, the "adults in the room" like Gen. Mattis, and later Esper, had to constantly clean up Trump's stupidity with allies, or things would have been even worse.

Competent adults, regardless if they're a Democrat or a Republican, simply don't want to serve Trump. The fact that Elon and DOGE are breaking things at a headspinning rate at every agency, including DOD, makes the problem of getting good people even more difficult. Hegseth is such a lightweight he's lost multiple battles with Elon. His (eventual) replacement will probably be worse, just in different ways.

Must be that the weight of Brylcreem has finally overcome Pete’s poor brain.

He says the signal chat was for "media coordination," but then says the media is lying about it. 🙄

Such chaos in the Pentagon makes America extremely vulnerable to enemy attack. Did anyone ever think of this?
