Trump is clearly going to attack all institutions of democracy. None of it is surprising even as it is awful. This is what was in store for us.

What will be the future of polling? If the media is afraid to release polls, we will increasingly be subject to only the polls that Trump himself develops and spreads on the right wing friendly media like his own platform and that of X. Other countries should already be banning X, and perhaps Truth Social as well.

In Australia, I'd like to believe that Trump would be deemed a 'vexatious litigant' and would have to make an application to a judge who would cast a careful look at the merits of the case before being allowed to proceed. Does America have this sensible procedure.

Unfortunately, we do not have that sensible procedure but, judges do look at the complaint and all are quite educated about Trump and his lawsuits. Judges also don't want to look as if they're uneducated on the law in question, and they particularly don't want to be overruled on appeal. While some people are questioning our judicial system, and rightly so, I don't think a Federal court judge will ignore the actual words of the law involved.

This does not bode well for the future free press. Will they just topple one by one as ABC did? It's pathetic, dangerous and sad at a time when we truly need them to be the bulwark during the new MUMP regime

What "free press" are you referring to? The Constitution says that *Congress* shall make no law abridging freedom of the press. It says nothing about hedge funds and corporations buying up the press and hamstringing it in the process.

This case, like so many spurious ones Trump brought, will be dismissed. It’s the shocking headlines now - so superfluous they cease to shock - that’s important. Watch the flamboyant left hand while the right hand steals your wallet.

The damaged parties in this nonsense are clearly the American people and the American Constitution.

Seems to me Kamala Harris has more standing to sue the paper & Ms. Selzer than Trump does. The poll raised her hopes, as well as the hopes of all of us Democrats. We’re actually the ones who suffered “damages”!

Only people truly without shame would exult over this absurd example of bullying by litigation.

Can't say I'd be too upset about reduced or no more media commissioned polling.

Alas, I suspect strongly that his strategy will work, and will chill the media across the board.

In T…pworld each successive day is worse than the one which preceded it. Is this like Santa delivering to T… p a nicely wrapped present under his tree. Or, because he’s been so naughty, getting nothing and the blaming Santa for all his ills? News at 11 if the media has the guts to deliver the truth? Or going straight to Hell. No turning back from this tragedy unless we fight every day for the real truth and not some concocted BS that makes the “good”.

So, the media has once again put our tits in a wringer and cranked the handle a couple of times for good measure.
