This look at the two budgets being discussed as well as the explanation of budgets in government vs households is both helpful and interesting. The reason for the House bill is demonstrably cruel to anyone in this country who are not wealthy while gifting those wealthy individuals another golden nugget. Such an example of dishonesty and greed.

It’s interesting that a standard Republican talking point is that government should be run like a business. Never mind the logical fallacy- government is not there to make a profit. If a business were run the way Republicans work the budget, its leaders would be on trial for fraud.

Trump equates moey with power, as do the oligarchs surrounding him. This, the "business model" of calling all spending "waste" and "fraud" unless it's money flowing into their own coffers.

Never mistake Republican "talking points" for valid ideas.

I think you pretty much nailed it. If it’s not going to them it’s either “waste” or “fraud”.

For the Big Lie to work as intended, they have to have close to total control the media. Like their idols, the Nazi's, they expected to have total control of the media by now. But thanks to platforms like this and other independent media outlets, the do not. As Ben Meiselas of Meidas Touch pointed out this morning, "They didn't count on the rise of [MT] and other independent media that has now replaced corporate media." The truth is getting out.

Coming to grips with Russia’s agenda and their talking points. Those now emanate from the seat of U.S. power, the White House. Our President acts very suspiciously. Is he fully compromised? Things were clear in my mind, as I wrote in this post. I have little doubt. https://bit.ly/4heWKvb

Trump is seriously beginning to show his age, physically and in his speeches, yet not a peep about it by the news media, who wouldn't STFU about Doddering Joe Biden. Everything is One Big Lie these days, don't trust your lying eyes and whatever you do, don't say anything.

Thank you to Noah, Aaron and everyone at Public Notice for speaking truth to fascist power.

I love how Trump avoids noticing his obvious statement that his first administration had massive "Waste, Fraud and Abuse" since the stuff he is attacking is stuff that was there when he was POTUS.

People talk about Soc Sec like it was paid for out of your income taxes. Some simple googling found: $1,417.8 billion was collected in Soc Sec taxes from employees and companies in 2024. The Social Security budget for 2024 was $1.5 trillion.

Soc Sec is a separate budget that had been robbed from for generations by the 'general fund' by Congress, and even still is doing well.

Sure, Republicans need to pay back their donors with tax cuts when they can, but aside from that, their goal is to 'prove' that government is 'bad', so they cripple it when they can, reduce taxes (on the rich) and impoverish the government, and in general do all they can to eliminate regulations and functions that interfere with big businesses opportunities to maximize their income, at the expense of customers, their safety, worker safety, environment, poisoning of streams, air, ground.. Every opportunity to do a big business a 'favor', while getting 'nice' donations is part of the process.

Normally Republicans make a lot of noise, generally hamper the government, grab some general graft with a bit of corruption, feed tax breaks to the rich, along with some juicy contracts and call it a day. They rely on the Democrats to keep the system running so the rich do not suffer the consequences of a completely broken system, while they lie about the evil democrats. But this time around the cuts are far too deep, the destruction is aimed to be total, and for some reason Trump and his team seem determined to do everything they can to fulfill Putin's dreams of destroying the US from within. Making the US weak and poor and no longer a place where people want to escape to.

So, do not think the destruction of the government is from incompetence, it is the goal. Unfortunately the Right wing and other complicit media are not sounding the alarms very well yet. While the Stock market is seeing the consequences of destruction, Trump still marches onward and it will not be until the people who voted for Trump rise up and require their lawmakers to do their job, and if need be get rid of Trump, will this get fixed.

The Trump voters are of two basic varieties: The hard core haters who have been at war with the non-haters for generations. And then there are the 'persuadables' who are not very bright to be blunt. They will be slow to realize their mistake, with the media confusing them, when they tune in at all, and buying into the excuses and distractions along with the outright lies, and then the inherent reluctance to admit their mistakes, it will take time and significant pain before any change can happen.

While Democrats need to oppose Trump, to show they are the good guys and who to vote for when the pain is felt, if Democrats are too good, then damage will be limited, but still bad and Trump will stay in charge doing more damage in ways that may take years to become obvious and decades to fix once they do. So while we must fight the good fight, I actually hope Trump is able to achieve his goals, so the consequences become clear.

IF Trump is successful with installing his tariffs, helping Putin in Ukraine, crippling the government, with viruses popping up all over... then MAYBE with sufficiently motivated voters we will be able to fix this properly this time.

WASTE, FRAUD AND ABUSE!

WASTE, FRAUD AND ABUSE!

WASTE, FRAUD AND ABUSE!

OH MY!!!

So scary…. And the Wicket Witch is…

ELON!!!

The words themselves are in fact meaningless when they are used as a slogan and cudgel to just condemn any policies or programs that one doesn’t like.

Is there waste?

Yes—Trumphuk’s ridiculously costly and wasteful weekly golf excursions costing millions per trip.

Is there fraud?

Yes — Trumphuk and Muskalini lying that 1000s have received illegal Social Security payments.

Is there abuse?

Yes — firing by Muskalini and his cadre of technobrats with no justification Veterans Affairs or NIH or Department of Justice or…. [fill in the blanks] workers.

So — if you fire folks for Waste, Fraud, and Abuse…WHO SHOULD BE FIRED?
