An even less disheartening way to look at it is that only 63.9% of the VEP (Voting-eligible population) voted. That means that the ca. 50/50 results were really 31.59% of US voters for Trump, and 30.66% for Harris. That leaves 36% of eligible voters who didn’t vote, which is incomprehensible to me and probably 99.79% of the subscribers to this Substack! We need to strain every nerve and little grey cell to come up with a whole new way of reaching those people, or even a few percentage points’ worth of them.
