The new reign of bullies—Trump/Musk moves - through a willing, gloating Vought - to strip protections and punish that naughty gal, Liz Warren. How manly, me boyz!

Ever notice how he loves to use the word "nasty" to describe women he hates?

Mostly black women are “nasty” — this profound description from a felon who prefers the darkness and quiet of dressing rooms to rape less nasty white women.

The whole goal seems to be Make Fraud Great Again. I can’t believe average people *knowingly* voted for this. It all, to me at least, points to widespread ignorance of what government actually does that benefits most citizens. Sad.

It's not really ignorance if it's willful. They (read: white Christians) knowingly voted for this because they want to burn everything down because white supremacy is more important to them than anything else, and sadism is just as integral to Christianity as Jesus.

Remember when we were assured that "D"oGE would be an advisory committee only? That was fun.

Trump seems to particularly hate Warren - scratch that - women in general - so this is completely predictable. Hire a raging misogynist, get raging misogyny.

It's just a matter of time before Trump and Musk's big plans cause everything to collapse. It has to happen. The Democrats are, as always, scurrying around like little mice trying to fix everything that's being broken, but they really should just leave it alone. It's going to take a catastrophe to wake up the MAGA idiots and compel them to ditch MAGA and Trump.

They'll never ditch him. This is exactly what they want. He's giving them everything they could have ever dreamed.

They'll never come around, or even feel any remorse for anything. They're not lost lambs, they're knowing participants. The focus can't be on trying to fix or redeem people who are fundamentally irredeemable. They're the enemy within, and that's the end of it.

Exactly - Republicans in congress aren't "outraged" about Musk and Trump, they absolutely freaking love it. They get what they want without having to do any work or leave their fingerprints anywhere.

Reading this 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️, another brilliant article from Public Notice, fabulous journalists. And a good forum for comments

If Congress aka GOP had done their job, all this might not have happened. Instead they just sit and watch it, applauding, even saying that the Administration doesn’t have to follow the Court’s ruling🙈🙈🙈.

A question: Can the democrats or whoever, bring GOP to Court holding them in contempt of the Constitution?

Expand full comment

Which court? The federal courts that are largely packed with Republicans, or the supreme court which is packed with illegitimate fascists who will rubber stamp anything trump puts in front of them?

The courts are dead to us for a generation, bare minimum.

From the article: he (Trump) suggested that “people all over the midwest” had come up and spontaneously shared stories of their lives being destroyed...

I'm from the midwest; how can I, a lowly rando, "come up" to the president and spontaneously share a story? I've got a lot I want to say to that guy!!!

At this point for anyone paying attention, we know the courts may lack any kind of significant authority going forward.

This is a bad time to give us bad news articles without any hint as to what agency we have.

I wonder if the independent newsletters could collaborate. Maybe you don't have ideas for what we should do, but maybe you know someone who does, and the two newsletters could collaborate so we don't feel completely disempowered, discouraged, and desperate.

We are here with you, and gathering in strength. The courts decide what is legitimate and what is illegitimate. That is their job, not JD Vance’s, and the courts are standing strong. Where they need to be backed up, we will back them up by taking to the streets en masse. On every street in which Mump plans to travel, it will not be possible. When they ignore the courts, our first wave of protestors will cross the Rappahannock and the Potomac. We will be in the hundreds of thousands, but only until our reserves arrive after crossing the Susquehanna and the Delaware. Then we will be in the millions. https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/peaceful-and-lawful?r=3m1bs
