For those of us who were not snookered in by the lies and false promises that Drump was peddling during the 2024 campaign (or any other time during his putrid life), the swift and total collapse of his polling numbers is an encouraging sign indeed. Of course, the mad king will attack (and possibly sue...ask the pollster in Iowa last year) the validity of the polling results or pull out the tired, unoriginal "fake news" card. I totally disagree with my fellow Louisianian James Carville's advice to just sit back and watch the carnage unfold. Rather, we need to heed the advice delivered in a rousing speech last night in New Hampshire by the governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker. Do yourself a favor and listen to or read the speech. We need more Dems (Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro immediately comes to mind) like him who will do the same. Like you said, Noah, the time to act is NOW. On les aura!

I have seen excerpts of Pritzker’s speech, and, finally, a Democrat on fire.

Can you point me to a written transcript of it (my comprehension is always better reading than watching)?

Mark, I have looked and looked for a transcript but to no avail. Maybe someone will read this post and point us in the right direction.

BTW Your beautiful state is my favorite place. I received my masters at CU (1978) and I must go least once a year (usually in the fall to glory in the aspens). Not staying in CO is the biggest mistake of my life.

Everyone's crowing that Trump's numbers have "collapsed," but considering what's happening they're still appallingly good. We've got a big problem -- several big problems -- and they're not going away when Trump does.

I see your point, and I also believe we start with further tanking his poll numbers and driving MAGA and the GOP out of power. Fighting back and stopping the destruction come first. Noah's spot on that we have to fight on every front

So disappointed in John Hickenlooper. This Coloradan will not vote for him again (twice for mayor, twice for governor and once for Senate). He voted 21 times to approve Tangerine Palpatine’s unqualified cabinet appointees. Resistance is NOT futile!

I don't understand how he has any approval rating at all.

And to think that I donated $200 to Gallego's campaign... He is a repugnicant in Democrat's clothing. I just wrote him to express my disgust.

There may be some purposeful polls out there that identify suprise issues and demographics that nobody thought would need political focus, but these polls aren't that. It doesn't tell VOTERS anything they didn't already know. The fact that any elected person would 'need a poll' to understand how voters feel about what's happening under Trump is appalling.

::Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer whipped votes to help Trump overcome a filibuster and pass a spending bill, jettisoning any possible Democratic leverage through a combination of unpreparedness and rank spinelessness.::

You could have said this all by just Senate Minority Leader Schmuck Schumer helped Trum over a filibuster because...he's Schmuck Schumer, Quisling Democrat."

Schumer has been such a disgrace as a Democratic Senator for so long, it sickens me as a former New Yorker. He makes the former Senator from my NEW state, New Jersey ::pause for all the Jersey jokes!::, Bob Menendez, who got an eleven-year prison sentence for bribery, Being a Foreign Agent, and Obstruction(!), seem like an effective leader by comparison.

Well said, Aaron. We definitely need to continue to take the fight to Trump and his evil regime and ‘order followers’ - callout every last one of the treasonous sycophants. One still has to wonder though, who are the ‘40 percent’ of clueless (or worse, ‘awful’) people who approve of this nasty and destructive administration.
